Hi, I’m Joe Burns. The U.S. Navy put a camera in my hands in 2001 to take arial photos from a plane at low altitude. Almost immediately after that I began shooting for fun. While traveling the world I was filled with a great desire to share my experiences with my family and friends back home and at the time photos were the best way to show them where I was. I began searching for little elements that told a story about the far away places I was living, in an attempt to better portray the feelings that I had while overseas. Little did I know at the time how important of an outlet that artistic expression was going to be to me over the next 18 years. I have a variety of expertise in photography, from landscapes to formal portraiture, which means that I can work with any situation to create powerful images that represent your special day.
